Hershey Entertainment & Resorts’ Bill Simpson Honored with Chairman’s Award of Excellence Medallion

Once a year, members of the Joint Boards from the Hershey Trust Company and Hershey Entertainment & Resorts (HE&R) meet. At this year’s gathering, a very special award was given to Bill Simpson, our Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The Chairman’s Award of Excellence Medallion was bestowed upon Bill. This distinction is presented to members of the Milton Hershey School Trust family who “demonstrate outstanding achievement in combination with high levels of integrity and moral character in their service to the Trust, our School and its mission.”

Bill is the first person outside of Milton Hershey School (MHS) to receive this honor. Moreover, Bill, who plans to retire in January 2018, was cited for the notable legacy he will leave at HE&R including dividend payments of more than $47 million to the School during his tenure and establishing the Company’s core purpose of providing value to MHS. The Joint Boards have noted that Bill has exemplified what a steward of the legacy should be and has consistently acted in a manner that upholds its mission.

Since his arrival to the Company in 1996, HE&R has seen consistent levels of growth. This award solidifies Bill’s dedication to the legacy of Mr. Hershey and the mission of the School.
