Hershey Bears Give Back: January 2019

The Hershey Bears are committed to giving back to the community as a part of our Hershey Bears Cares initiative. In the month of January, Bears players made community appearances at Dave & Busters in Harrisburg, Camping World, as well as Highland Elementary School and the Penn State Health Children’s Hospital in Hershey.

On January 6, the Bears held their annual STAR WARS Night, which included game-worn specialty jerseys. The specialty jerseys were auctioned post game to benefit Liberty USO at Fort Indiantown Gap, Pennsylvania Wounded Warriors, Inc. and the American Red Cross Central Pennsylvania Military Support for Families.

January 9 featured the first of two Dave & Busters appearances in Harrisburg. Bears players Liam O’Brien, Maximilian Kammerer, Steven Whitney, Shane Gersich and Mason Mitchell played games with kids from 6-8 p.m. The next Dave & Busters appearance is scheduled for January 31.

On January 15, Bears rookie forward Juuso Ikonen and defenseman Steve Johnson visited Camping World in Harrisburg to interact and sign autographs with fans.
