Hershey Bears Break Franchise Teddy Bear Toss Record

Teddy Bears Toss Night for the Hershey Bears is not only a fan favorite, but a tradition that has gone back since the Bears played in the “Old Barn” (Hersheypark Arena). This year was a special year for the Bears as the franchise record was crushed with a total collection of 25,017 stuffed animals, all thanks to all the amazing Bears fans!

There is one important Bears fan we would like to note and that’s Jeff Sweigart, a club seat holder. He graciously offered, before knowing the total, to donate $1 for each stuffed animal collected to Children’s Miracle Network. That’s $25,017!

The stuffed animals collected go to various charities in the Central Pennsylvania region. This year, the Hershey Bears have more than 30 organizations that will benefit from your donations. A few of these organizations include:

  • Children’s Miracle Network
  • Ronald McDonald House
  • Boys and Girls Club of Harrisburg
  • Shalom House
  • Gemma’s Angels
  • Judy’s Elves Foundation
  • PA Army National Guard Families
  • And many more!
