Experience a Winter Wonderland at ZooAmerica

Experience a Winter Wonderland at ZooAmerica in Hershey, PA

I love winters in Pennsylvania and I don’t think I could live any place that did not experience all four seasons. I really do enjoy bundling up and putting on the boots and going outside for a nice winter walk.

One of my favorite places to visit in winter is ZooAmerica North American Wildlife Park. I’ve visited in winter, spring, summer and fall and my favorite season by far is winter- the animals on exhibit outdoors are so much more active and easier to see. Many of the Zoo’s outside animals actually enjoy the cold weather as their bodies adapt with thicker hair or fur.

During the month of December, the Zoo staff schedules “Wild Treats” which are food treats specially prepared by Zoo Naturalists as a part of the ongoing animal enrichment program.

If you would like to see the animals get their own snack, visit ZooAmerica on these dates:

  • Saturday, December 17: 1 PM - Otters// 3 PM – Elk

  • Sunday, December 18: 1 PM - Bobcats// 3 PM - Wolves

  • Tuesday, December 27: 1 PM - Bears// 3 PM - Deer

  • Wednesday, December 28: 1 PM - Alligator Snapping Turtle// 3 PM - Great Southwest Mammals

  • Thursday, December 29: 1 PM - Lynx// 3 PM - Mountain Lions

  • Friday, December 30: 1 PM - Martens// 3 PM - Pronghorn

And, be sure to take advantage of the Zoo’s special $6 Friday rate, now through March 31, 2017.
