Hershey's Chocolatetown

Inspired by the legacy of Milton S. Hershey, the 23-acre development represents the largest investment in company history and features:

  • an entirely reimagined arrival experience
  • the custom Candymonium hypercoaster boasting a lift height of 210 feet, a maximum speed of 76 mph, and a track length of 4,636 feet with the most airtime of any coaster at Hersheypark
  • a new home for the historic 100-year-old Carrousel
  • the first-ever Starbucks inside Hersheypark
  • Hyperdeck, an immersive virtual reality experience; and
  • Hersheypark Supply Co., a premier 10,000-square-foot flagship retail experience with the largest collection of apparel, gifts, toys and more exclusive to Hersheypark.

Hersheypark looks forward to debuting the iconic Kisses Fountain in July, with more chocolate-themed surprises to come this summer. The Chocolatier Restaurant, Bar + Patio, Milton’s Ice Cream Parlor and The Sweeterie Confectionery Kitchen are slated to open in 2021.

“We are so excited to welcome our guests to Hershey’s Chocolatetown and debut Candymonium as part of our summer opening weekend,” said Vikki Hultquist, General Manager at Hersheypark. “From the distinctive Hershey’s candy theme that welcomes guests to our sweetest coaster Candymonium, this is an experience that can only exist in Hersheypark.”

Candymonium  Hypercoaster

Designed by leading industry manufacturer Bolliger & Mabillard (B&M), the out-and-back style Candymonium coaster begins with a heart-pounding, 210-foot ascent up the tallest hill in Hersheypark in a candy-themed train. Each train represents the world-renowned Hershey Company brands of Hershey’s Kisses candies, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups and Twizzlers twists. The coaster then dips into thrilling drops including seven camelback hills and a 123-degree hammerhead curve, and ends with an impressive panoramic banked curve around the iconic Kisses Fountain. The thrilling ride experience for guests 54” and taller (Twizzlers height requirement and above) lasts 2 minutes and 26 seconds and spans 7 acres of Hershey’s Chocolatetown.

Candymonium joins other mild to wild coasters, family-friendly favorites and kiddie rides at Hersheypark this summer. Included in the one-price admission is The Boardwalk At Hersheypark waterpark with more than one million gallons of water, and ZooAmerica North American Wildlife Park, an 11-acre walk-through zoo that cares for more than 200 animals; hours vary.

New Safety Enhancements

Hersheypark has implemented a variety of new safety initiatives to welcome guests back to a fun and safe environment based on the current guidance and requirements that have been issued from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Pennsylvania Department of Health, and various industry organizations.
