5 Tips for Visiting Hersheypark Christmas Candylane

For many people in Central Pennsylvania and the surrounding area, Hersheypark Christmas Candylane is an annual tradition- the four million twinkling lights, the sounds, the smells and the food! So much to see and do.

If you’ve previously visited Candylane, you probably have your own list of “favorites.” But for any new guests, I have some tips to help you make the most of your holiday visit.

New for 2016: Five roller coasters are open!

Tip # 1: Laff Trakk, Cocoa Cruiser, sooperdooperLooper, Wildcat and Wild Mouse

Riding the tracks with the wind in your hair in December! YES! So, my first tip is take an exhilarating winter coaster ride and enjoy a winter thrill. Laff Trakk is an indoor, spinning, glow-coaster and NEW this year, Laff Trakk is decking its halls with Christmas-themed décor in the spirit of the holiday season!

Tip #2: Music Box Christmas Show- “A Music Box Christmas”

This live singing and dancing show tells the story of a mysterious music box that is found in Grandma's attic and brings the magic of Christmas to life. Guests of all ages will enjoy watching this performance inside the heated theater.

Tip #3: King-Size Milkshake

Even Santa can’t resist this 24-ounce indulgent shake! Named Snow Sweet Shake, this hand-crafted beverage is packed with ice cream and topped with Christmas tree decorated pretzel sticks, a marshmallow snowman and chocolate-covered brownies. Served in a mug you can keep, this decadent delight is big enough to share. But, seriously, who would want to?

Tip # 4: Candylane Twilight Express

Step aboard and take a holiday ride on a steam-driven locomotive. This relaxing ride is a family favorite and almost seems to turn back time as it chugs through brightly colored light displays. The end of the journey takes you through a tunnel encircled in tiny white lights made magical by the steam of the train’s engine.

Tip #5: Santa’s Nine Live Reindeer

I must admit I had never seen a real reindeer before I made my first visit to Candylane. They really are much smaller than I anticipated. It does make you wonder how they pull Santa’s sleigh and all those toys. But, as I learned at Candylane, that is the magic of Christmas.

These are just some of my favorite things at Hersheypark Christmas Candylane. Please share some of your favorites with me.
